THE REGATTA SEAFOOD & STEAKHOUSE ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF AWARD-WINNING CHEF SEAN MCREE AS NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF 

The Regatta Seafood & Steakhouse is delighted to announce the appointment of Award-Winning Chef Sean McRee as our new Executive Chef.

Sean McRee is a graduate of the Associates of Culinary Arts and has won numerous culinary awards, including the Best in Show at the Soiree Royal for his seared sea scallops over roasted corn grits with tomato bacon cream sauce and fried crawfish tails. If you do not recognize Chef Sean from his success in cooking competitions over the last 20 years, then you might recognize his name and find his face familiar from his numerous stints on KLFYs Passe-Partout morning show.  Chef Sean was a regular inspiration to the morning show viewers as he displayed his culinary skills and tantalized their appetites by cooking some of his favorite dishes on air.  Others may know Chef Sean McRee as the owner and Executive Chef of Midway on the Square, or his time as the Executive Chef at Evangeline Downs. According to Country Roads Magazine, chef Sean is a former Top 3 Small Town Chefs, and former nominee for Chef of the Year by the American Culinary Federation.

As the Executive Chef at The Regatta, Chef Sean will bring his 28 years of experience and expertise, along with his unique recipes and cooking style to the kitchen of the Regatta as well as oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant.  He will work in concert with Front End Manager Lakayla Stelly, who is not too shabby in the kitchen herself, to bring a fresh take to the food and beverages offered at the Regatta.  The menu may change, but the wonderful atmosphere enjoyed by tens of thousands of customers a year will remain the same.

 

Chef Sean is convinced that food should bring the ultimate joy to the consumers, and he believes that the creative approach to cooking creates a viable excuse to get together at the table.
